Clubs and Extra-Curricular Activities

After school activities run from Monday to Thursday from 3:30pm until 5:00pm. All the clubs on offer are run by Ifield School staff to encourage pupils to extend their participation in an activity they enjoy.

There are a selection of clubs that run each day, these are;

Mondays – Cooking (Secondary Only), Football club and Swimming Club

Tuesdays –Sensory Club, Fun Club, Art Club and Independent Living Skills

Wednesdays – Cooking (Primary Only), ICT Club, Singing Club

Thursdays – Film Club and Sports Club

All of the clubs offered have been selected by the pupils within the school and have a good attendance. Clubs are offered for two terms with option letters being sent home at the beginning of terms 1, 3 & 5 for choices to be made.

Some pupils choose to attend a Youth Club which allows pupils to interact with other young people within the local community in a safe environment. Youth club runs on a Wednesday from 6:45pm until 8:45pm, however we offer the option to Ifield School pupils to stay and have dinner within the Ifield Life facilities which they purchase from the local Supermarket. Once Youth club is finished the members of Ifield staff who accompany them transport the pupils home.

Alongside the after-school activities we, at Ifield School, are pleased to be able to offer the Ifield Life Programme. This is where all pupils in year 10 and above are offered to attend at least one night, staying in the Ifield Life house on the school site. This is a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to practice their independent living skills that they have learnt at home, at school or at college.

The programme also allows pupils to gain confidence in being away from home in preparation for visits such as the ski residential or overnight camping stays during Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.

During their stay pupils attend the supermarket to buy the items needed for their dinner, upon arrival back to the Ifield Life House they cook dinner, complete night time routines and go to school or college the following day. They will always be accompanied by two members of Ifield school staff. The programme has been running for many years and pupils often say how much they enjoy the experience.

More information about the clubs can be found in the leaflet at the bottom on this page.
