Ellenor Hospice - Ifield Sixthform - Work Placement

WORK PLACEMENT VOLUNTEERING IN THE HOUSEKEEPING DEPARTMENT

I currently attend Ifield school 6th form and as a work placement opportunity I volunteer at ellenor Hospice every Wednesday in the Housekeeping department. Susan, my placement student support, teaches me housekeeping skills and oversees my work. I have learnt how to clean well and I like cleaning the doors and windows. I enjoy finding evidence of my hard work by checking my cloth for dust! Everyone at ellenor is lovely and friendly and my confidence is improving hugely.

Lisa Taylor, Head of Housekeeping, said “Amelia is the second work placement we have had in Housekeeping, she has proved an asset to our team helping us with the workload while we are short staffed. It is lovely to see her gaining confidence as she gets used to working with our team and she has recently started to do some of the tasks on her own with her mentor Sue close at hand.

We enjoy having her as part of our team!
