Pocahontas 400 Year Celebration

The Cedar Federation were invited to be part of the Gravesham celebrations to mark 400 years of the burial of Pocahontas in Gravesend. Students from both Ifield and King's Farm took part in a joint theatrical workshop on Pocahontas which engaged the students and was also very educational. We were fortunate enough to be visited by Councillor Jordan Meade during the workshop. A visiting artist then worked with some students to produce some flags which they then carried in the Pocahontas parade in Gravesend on March 21st.

At the end of the parade Antonio Dzhenev and Natas Rylejev represented Ifield in a special service in St. Georges Church which included a Sermon from the Bishop of Rochester and greetings from Chiefs from Uper Mattaponi, Chickahominy and Rappahanock.
