Duke Of Edinburgh Bronze and Silver Expedition Award Weekend

Bronze & Silver Expedition Qualifier Weekend

The weekend of 9-11th June was a very special one for 14 pupils who undertook their Bronze or Silver Duke of Edinburgh Expedition and we are delighted to confirm that they all passed and have now successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze or Silver Award.

Every pupil met personal challenges during the expedition which involved 2 days of walking and one night camping for Bronze Award and 3 days walking and 2 nights camping for Silver Award. The pupils walked in heavy rain and sunshine and covered several miles each day over some quite challenging ground. The pupils put the skills they used during training into practise, using Ordnance Survey maps to navigate sections of the route, pitching tents and cooking their own meals on Trangia stoves.

The weekend was extremely successful and a rewarding experience for both pupils and staff.

We would like to congratulate the following pupils on achieving their Bronze Award-

Noor Awan, Ellie Barwick, Gabriel Arney, Alex Bragin, Amelia Higglesden, Alicia Ng, Sean Young, Jack Weedon, Ross Smith, Christine Haswell

We would like to congratulate the following pupils on achieving their Silver Award-

Lucas James, Benn Newstead, Kayleigh Shand, Jamie Garland
